Welcome Team Parents!
Each team should have at least one parent volunteer to help the coach keep the team organized. The role of the team parent varies based on age group and needs of the team.
In order to volunteer as a team parent, you must fill out an online volunteer form each season. The first time you volunteer, you will need to print 2 copies to turn in to a Region 94 staff member along with a valid ID. Each season, you will update your volunteer information online. You will also be required to complete online Safe Haven training and concussion awareness training (one time only). Go to www.aysotraining.org to complete it.
Typical Team Parent Responsibilities
- Attend Coach/Team Parent meeting
- Create and/or order team banner (optional)
- Create and distribute snack schedule
- Help plan team parties
- Attend practices and keep copies of player registration forms
- Contact players as needed for cancelled practices or games
- Assign team volunteers to work in the snack shack and paint fields on scheduled day & time.
Prior to the beginning of the season, Region 94 staff hold a coach and team parent meeting. This important (and mandatory) event offers and overview of the upcoming season, a folder with necessary documents, and other helpful information. We send a weekly team parent email to make sure your team gets any needed information.
